INSIGHTS FROM THE LIVED EXPERIENCE AND CHALLENGING STEREOTYPES WHILST PROMOTING PERSON-CENTRED AND RECOVERY-ORIENTATED PRACTICE

Overview
Between 2017-2019, Sally was engaged by Eating Disorders Queensland the the Queensland Eating Disorders Service to deliver presentations as a recovery speaker, sharing her insights and story of recovery with clinicians in the inpatient, emergency, pre-hospital and community settings.
As a representative for the Brisbane South Primary Health Networks Community Advisory Board, Sally was also invited in 2017 to attend the National Stepped Care Conference in Canberra as well as speaking alongside USA Clinician Dr Laura Hill in 2023 at the TBT-S Course for Parents and Clinicians as a representative of the Eating Disorders Families Australia TBT-S Committee.
Since 2019, Sally has continued her work as a speaker, facilitating and delivering presentations that provide lived experience insights, challenge stereotypical thinking and promote person-centred and recovery-orientated practice to second-year student Paramedics at the University of Southern Queensland.
